July 21 to late September

Road closed to through traffic between Hwy 25 north of Buckman and Crow Wing Co. Rd. 2 in Shephard to work beneath the road on drainage structures.

Local access

Hwy 25 will be maintained and open to those who live, work or visit those within the closed work zone; however, hard closures will be necessary at times to work under the road. Enter/exit nearest your destination.

  • Crews will work Mon-Sat on good weather days; except Labor Day holiday weekend
  • Expect multiple crews at work along this project
  • Be prepared to slow down or stop with use of flaggers
  • Watch for heavy equipment and workers
  • Expect grooved or gravel surfaces
  • Stay out of closed/barricaded areas

Crews will resurface 14 miles of Hwy 25 north and south of Pierz and replace three bridges over waterways in Morrison County.

Summary of work

  • Resurface 14 miles of asphalt road, includes turn lanes:
    • Morrison/Crow Wing County line at 175th St. to north Pierz at 4th Ave.
    • South junction Hwy 27 at Pierz/Genola to 123rd St. south of Genola
  • Replace three bridges (box culverts) over Platte River and Wolf Creek
  • Replace or repair drainage pipes under road, includes ditch work
  • Update guardrail
  • Install road markings and rumble strips

 

Future impacts

Late September to mid-October

After the drainage structure work is complete, crews will resurface the asphalt during daylight hours. Travelers will encounter:

  • Reduced speeds
  • Segments of alternate one way traffic with flaggers and use of a pilot car
  • Be prepared to suddenly stop or slow down
  • Those entering the work zone must wait and follow the direction of the pilot car
  • Good weather is necessary to complete this work
