Project Manager Newsletter
May 2024
Greetings! I can’t believe it is May already! 2024 is just flying by. In our May PM Newsletter, I am writing about the Notice of Intent (NOI) and looking ahead to summer engagement activities and warm weather. Hopefully you all have lots of fun activities planned this summer.
The NOI public comment period closed at the end of the day on May 15. The comments are still accessible through our project website. The link is on the right side of the home page just below Technical Documents. Even though the comment period is closed, we still would like to hear from you! You can comment on our website or at upcoming engagement events.
The project team is busy going through the comments that were received and are looking for new comments that explain why the issue raised is important to the consideration of the alternatives. All comments received during the NOI public comment period will be included in the public comment section of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
We are anticipating the NOI will be completed around mid-June. When that arrives, we will start the draft environmental impact statement (DEIS). The DEIS will work to identify the preferred alternative. To get there, we need to make some decisions with the first answering the question of should Hwy 252 go over or under the local roadways?
We are planning several opportunities to talk with you all, including our local partners, about this question beginning in July and going into early fall, including:
- Pop-up events
- City workshops
I am really looking forward to getting out into the communities this summer through these engagement opportunities! Please contact us if you have any questions!
