Work begins June 12 on the Hwy 212 improvement project through Cologne

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Work will begin after midnight on Monday, June 12 for the Highway 212 improvement project through Cologne and portions of Benton and Dahlgren townships, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Crews will start work on Highway 212 between the eastern junction of County Road 36 and Kelly Avenue, reducing that portion of the roadway to one lane in both directions for 14-20 days.

Then, beginning in early July, there will be one-lane head-to-head traffic throughout the entire project area, between just west of the western County Road 36/Highway 212 intersection and about a half-mile east of the eastern County Road 36/Highway 212 intersection.

During the first phase of the project, all traffic will use eastbound lanes while crews work on westbound Highway 212. Drivers who are crossing or accessing Highway 212 in the project area may be detoured at some intersections, with much of the traffic directed to a temporary signal at the west junction of County Road 36 and Highway 212.

Crews expect construction on Highway 212 to wrap up in the fall of 2023. For more information, a detour map, or to sign up for email updates, visit mndot.gov/metro/projects/hwy212cologne.
