Hwy 53 resurfacing near Independence to start June 26
DULUTH, Minn. –Minnesota Department of Transportation will begin a pavement preservation project on Highway 53 near Independence on June 26. Work includes milling and chip sealing 15 miles pavement both northbound and southbound and is expected to last through July 8. Motorists should expect lane closures during work operations. Permanent pavement markings will be installed later in July.
