Construction on Highway 32 between Middle River and Greenbush begins July 5

Motorists will experience a detour during construction

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Motorists traveling on Highway 32 between Middle River and Greenbush will experience a detour beginning July 5 as road construction begins, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The project will be completed in two stages.
Crews will begin by replacing three box culverts south of Greenbush in Stage 1 of the project. Motorists will detour utilizing Roseau County Roads 6, 3 and 4. Once complete, crews will move to Stage 2 of the project to replace a box culvert south of Strathcona as well as resurface the highway between Middle River and Greenbush. Motorists will detour utilizing Marshall County Roads 6 and 49 as well as Roseau County Roads 32, 6, 3 and 4.

Benefits of the project include a safer road, improved drainage, and a smoother and longer lasting driving surface.

Spruce Valley Corp. is the contractor for the $12 million project. Construction is scheduled to be completed in mid-October. Start and end dates could change due to weather and other unforeseeable circumstances.
