MnDOT to host community workshops for the Olson Memorial Highway study in North Minneapolis

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will host two community workshops in July for the Olson Memorial Highway multimodal study in North Minneapolis. Both workshops will be held in person at locations near the study area.

The first workshop will be on Tuesday, July 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Harrison Recreation Center in the Gymnasium, 503 N. Irving Ave., Minneapolis. The second workshop will be on Monday, July 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Sumner Library in the Johnson Room, 611 Van White Memorial Boulevard., Minneapolis.

During these interactive workshops, attendees will be able to learn more about the study and share their ideas on the future of Olson Memorial Highway with the project team. There are no formal presentations planned, and MnDOT encourages the public to come and go on their own schedule. MnDOT is also inviting feedback on the study in an online survey.

MnDOT is studying Olson Memorial Highway between Border Avenue and the bridge west of Thomas Avenue. MnDOT is doing the study to better understand the long-term needs of the community and explore long-term solution that benefits the surrounding community and people who use the highway. The study will address pedestrian and bicyclist safety at intersections along the highway, and MnDOT will gather input from the community on their transportation and safety needs, existing experiences, and desires for the future of Olson Memorial Highway.
