Highway 212 reduced to single lane through Cologne beginning July 8

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Highway 212 through Cologne will be reduced to one lane in each direction beginning noon Saturday, July 8 while crews work on the Highway 212 improvement project, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

During the first phase of the work, all traffic will be directed onto the eastbound lanes while crews work on westbound Highway 212.

Drivers crossing or accessing Highway 212 in the project area may be detoured at some intersections, with much of the traffic directed to a temporary signal at the west junction of County Road 36 and Highway 212.

Through early November, there will be one-lane head-to-head traffic in the entire Highway 212 project area, from just west of the western County Road 36 intersection to about a half-mile east of the eastern County Road 36 intersection.

Crews expect construction on Highway 212 to wrap up in fall 2023. For more information, a detour map, or to sign up for email updates, visit mndot.gov/metro/projects/hwy212cologne.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.
