Hwy 52 Hader to Zumbrota Study materials available for public review
ZUMBROTA, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and Goodhue County are conducting a Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) study examining the Hwy 52 corridor between Hader and Zumbrota.
The Purpose and Need documents are available to the public for review.
- Zumbrota Public Library:
Hard copies of the Purpose and Need document and paper survey are available at the library. Community members can leave completed surveys with the library to send to MnDOT or use the addressed envelopes.
- On-line:
Individuals can also access the Purpose and Need document on the project website. People are encouraged to provide their comments through the on-line survey.
The Purpose and Need document establishes the transportation purpose and need for Hwy 52 between Hader and Zumbrota by evaluating existing and future conditions along Hwy 52 and identifying needs and potential transportation improvements that future projects may include. No funding for future projects is included in the study.
The comment period will be open to the public until July 31, 2023. After that time, the project management team will review and evaluate the feedback received.

The Hwy 52 Hader to Zumbrota study seeks to consider the benefits and impacts of proposed transportation system improvements to the environment, communities and economy in the Hwy 52 corridor. It considers elements that improve safety, manage access, improve freight movement, address agricultural transportation needs, manage congestion into the future and encourage economic development.
MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all.
