Detour for Highway 22 Mapleton to Wells project removed July 26
MANKATO, Minn. – Construction on Highway 22 between Mapleton and Wells is nearing completion, and the detour is expected to be removed by 1 p.m. today, July 26, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Motorists are urged to watch for workers as minor finishing work along the shoulders continues.
Highway 22 traffic had been detoured since April 17 for resurfacing the roadway. The project also included Americans with Disability improvements in Minnesota Lake by adding new curb ramps, updating existing sidewalk, and adding a short segment of sidewalk.
Benefits of the project include improved pavement, drainage, sidewalk system, and traffic safety improvements.

Ulland Brothers, Inc. was awarded the project with a bid of $10,144,431.51.
