Hwy 65 weekend closures ahead for bridge painting in Spring Lake Park
Crews will repaint underside of newly repaired Anoka County Road 10 bridges
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will close southbound Highway 65 beneath Anoka County Road 10/Mounds View Boulevard in Spring Lake Park this coming weekend to paint the underside of the west end of the newly repaired bridges. The southbound roadway will close at 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, from 85th Avenue to Central Avenue. It will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14.
Weather permitting, crews will repaint the underside of the east half of the bridges the following weekend and northbound Highway 65 will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18 until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21 in the same area.
During the closures, motorists should follow the signed detours.
Painting bridges helps maintain and preserve their life and also improves their appearance.
Crews are finishing up repairs and resurfacing to the two bridges crossing Highway 65. When completed in late August, the bridges will have a smoother, safer driving surface and the project also will extend the life of the bridges and improve traffic flow.
