Hwy 61 Withers Harbor bridge to reopen to full traffic as Red Wing project wraps up Year 1

RED WING, Minn. –Highway 61 at Withers Harbor Drive in Red Wing will reopen to full traffic on Tuesday, Sept. 5 as crews wrap up the first season of the two-year bridge replacement project, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Traffic will be moved back onto the northbound bridge beginning Tuesday and all of traffic should return to its respective bridges in both lanes by the end of the day. Crews replaced the northbound bridge this year and will replace southbound bridge over Withers Harbor Drive in Red Wing in 2024.

Motorists will again be able to make left turns at ends of the bridges once the work zone is removed. Motorists may still see construction cleanup work under the bridge and there will likely be a short closure of Withers Harbor Drive to remove some equipment in September.
