Weekend closure of eastbound I-94 in North Minneapolis begins September 8
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – On Friday, Sept. 8, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will close eastbound Interstate 94 between Interstate 394 and Interstate 694 to begin painting the Plymouth Ave. bridge that crosses over I-94.
Beginning at 10 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 8 through 5 a.m. Mon., Sept. 11, eastbound I-94 will be closed between I-394 and I-694. The following ramps to I-94 will also be closed:
- Southbound Hwy 252 to eastbound I-94/southbound Hwy 100/eastbound I-694
- 53rd Ave/W. Lyndale Ave. to eastbound I-94
- 49th Ave./48th Ave/N. Lyndale Ave. to eastbound I-94
- Dowling Ave. to eastbound I-94
- Broadway Ave. to eastbound I-94
Motorists will be detoured using I-694 to Hwy 169 to I-394 while the weekend closure is in place.
Weekend closure of westbound I-94 – Sept. 15-18
Starting at 10 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 15 through 5 a.m., Mon., Sept. 18, MnDOT will also close westbound I-94 between I-394 and I-694 to complete work painting the Plymouth Ave. bridge. Motorists will be detoured using I-394 to Hwy 169 to I-694.
The following ramps to westbound I-94 will also be closed:
- N. 3rd St. to westbound I-94
- Lyndale Ave. S. to westbound I-94 at I-394 split
- Eastbound I-394 to westbound I-94
- Lyndale Ave S. to westbound I-94 at Lyndale Ave N./Plymouth Ave split
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change. The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, and slowdown in work zones where workers are present.
