Hwy 9 improvement project in New London complete

WILLMAR, Minn. – Construction work on the safety improvement project for Highway 9 in New London has been completed, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Crews are finishing up with punch list items and cleanup.

About this project
Improvements along Highway 9 included sidewalk bump-outs that meet current Americans with Disabilities Act standards, mid-block pedestrian crossings, dedicated left-turn lanes at the Country Stop, and the replacement of portions of the retaining wall along the Mill Pond bridge.
Benefits of the project include enhanced driver and pedestrian safety. Landwehr Construction, Inc., was the contractor and the project cost was $922,000.
