Feedback invited through meetings and survey for Highway 14 and Broadway Avenue improvements in Rochester

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The public is invited to attend a public meeting on Oct. 17 to learn about a new design concept for the intersection of Highway 14 and Broadway Avenue in Rochester, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The open house style meeting will be held in person 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Graham Park in Aune Hall at 112 Arena Drive SE, Rochester. Attendees will have the opportunity to see, ask questions and provide input on a design concept for the reconstruction of Highway 14 and Broadway Avenue based on feedback heard from the community earlier in 2023.

Nearby business owners and operators are encouraged to attend a business-oriented meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2-3 p.m., at the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce at 220 Broadway Avenue S., Suite 100, Rochester.

People unable to attend the meetings can view the concept design and give feedback via a short survey by visiting the project website.

MnDOT and the City of Rochester are looking into changes to reduce crashes and improve crossings for pedestrians and bicyclists at the intersection. Every day, 50,000 vehicles use the intersection. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027.

To learn more about the project, visit the MnDOT project website at talk.dot.state.mn.us/hwy-14-and-broadway-ave-intersection-safety-improvements, where you can sign up for email and text message updates, review information and submit comments and questions.

MnDOT and the City of Rochester invite and encourage participation by all. If you need an ASL, a foreign language interpreter or other reasonable accommodation, or need documents in an alternative format (such as braille or large print), please email your request to Janet Miller at ADArequest.dot@state.mn.us or call 651-366-4720.
