Temporary overnight closures, delays on Hwy 10 west of Detroit Lakes for railroad work Nov. 1-3

DETROIT LAKES, Minn.—Starting the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 1 through the morning of Friday, Nov. 3, weather permitting, motorists will encounter overnight lane closures, intermittent closures and delays on Highway 10 west of Detroit Lakes, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Railroad crews will be installing a new signal at the BNSF Railway railroad spur track that crosses Highway 10.

The work will begin on Nov. 1, with lane closures starting as early as 7 p.m. and lasting until 6 a.m. Crews will begin on the westbound side on Nov. 1, and switch to the eastbound side on Nov. 2.

Between the hours of 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. each night, Highway 10 west of Detroit Lakes will close for up to 30 minutes. Motorists should watch the message boards on Highway 10 to know when the temporary closures will begin. To avoid delays during the short-term closure, consider other routes.

The schedule is led by the BNSF Railway.
