MnDOT advising no travel on Interstate 90 from Worthington to Jackson and on several state highways in South Central Minnesota

Strong winds, icy roads, and limited visibility create hazardous driving conditions

MANKATO, Minn. – (11:30 a.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation has issued a No Travel Advisory for Interstate 90 between Worthington and Jackson, on Highway 60 from Windom to Worthington, Highway 86 south of Windom, and on Highway 71 from Windom to Jackson. Strong winds and blowing snow are causing limited to zero visibility.

Motorists are advised not to travel in these areas until conditions improve.
No travel advised means that the roadway has deteriorated and/or visibility has been reduced to the point that it is very dangerous to travel; there are reports of intermittent whiteout conditions; and, some weather conditions can be severe enough that road treatments, such as salt or sand, are not effective.
