Hwy 23 and Hwy 7 pavement marking project complete
WILLMAR, Minn. —A project to update centerline pavement markings onHwy 23 and Hwy 7 is complete, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The pavement markings were updated as part of a regular maintenance cycle to meet current safety standards.
Crews installed centerline rumble strips and in-ground wet reflective striping on the following roadways. The four-lane roadway south of Marshall also received shoulder rumble strips.
- Hwy 23 from north of Marshall to south of Cottonwood
- Hwy 23 from Russell to Marshall
- Hwy 7 from Montevideo to Clara City
Project benefits and cost
Benefits of the project include enhanced safety as rumble strips alert drivers to lane position and in-ground wet reflective striping is more visible at night and in rainy conditions.
Surface Preparation Technologies, LLC, was the contractor, and the project cost was approximately $2.48 million.
