Overview
Minnesota’s Rail Safety Inspection Program exercises its oversight responsibility through the enforcement of State laws and rules and through a cooperative agreement with the Federal Railroad Administration.
There are three major areas handled by the Rail Safety Inspection Program:
- Track Safety
- Transportation of Hazardous Materials
- Motive Power and Equipment
- Operations
- Signal and Train Control
