Channelizers
MnDOT does not maintain an Approved Products List for Type A, B or C channelizers, or longitudinal channelizing barricades. The installer of channelizers must self-certify that the device complies with the specifications in Standard Plate Number 8000 including color, size, retro-reflectivity and crashworthiness. Quality standards are found in the Field Manual.
- Type A: Cones, weighted channelizers, tubular markers (excluding surface mounted delineators)
- Type B: Drums, type I and II barricades, direction indicator barricades, vertical panels
- Type C: Type III barricades
- Longitudinal Channelizing Barricades (LCBs)
Portable sign support structures
MnDOT does not maintain an Approved Products List for portable sign support structures. The installer of portable signs shall provide documentation that the device complies with the specifications in the guidance documents including size, ballasting and crashworthiness testing. Quality standards are found in the Field Manual. Refer to the guidance documents for shop drawings of MnDOT tested portable sign structures which have been crash tested and pre-approved for use on all state projects.
