Hwy 34

Project information

In 2023, the Minnesota Department of Transportation completed a resurfacing project on Highway 34, from Becker County Road 29 to west of Osage, County Road 26/47 (old MN225). During construction, the road closed and thru-traffic was detoured. Local traffic encountered daily lane closures.

County Road 29 to County Road 46 near Osage

• 21-miles of full depth reclamation and resurfacing
• Culvert and cattle pass work
• Bridge/box culvert replacement at Shell River
• Left turn lanes at intersection of County Road 47

• COMPLETE: Removal of trees and vegetation within 65 feet from both sides of the centerline (clear zone)
• Winter 2024-2025: Shade tree reduction on the south side of the highway between Snellman and Osage (about 7 miles)
