Hwy 1/Hwy 169 construction south of Tower to start July 26
DULUTH, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will be starting construction work on Hwy 1/Hwy 169 south of Tower on Wednesday, July 26. Initial work will include removal of a box culvert at the West Two River. Traffic will be at reduced speeds, restricted to 12’ width, and shifted onto the Hwy shoulder.
About 6.8 miles of pavement will be resurfaced in this project between the Pike River Bridge and Hwy 135. In August, motorists can expect milling and paving operations with single lane traffic and a pilot car.
