Northbound I-35 lanes open in Faribault as project moves toward completion
FARIBAULT, Minn. – Both northbound Interstate 35 lanes are open to traffic and both southbound lanes are expected to open in about a week, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The left northbound lane was opened on Friday evening, Oct. 18.
Single lane traffic has been open in each direction in the right lanes as crews removed crossover lanes and other construction-related work in the median.
This work is part of the I-35 resurfacing project.

The southbound lanes may still see traffic slowdowns and delays during peak driving times such as commuting times and weekends, until both lanes are restored to traffic. Motorists should continue to make plans to alter their routes or travel times to avoid delays. Checking 511mn.org to know before you go. Checking traffic cameras and traffic speeds in the area on the map can aid travel planning.

Crews are working on guardrail and lighting installation. It is anticipated that all work will be completed by late-October. There will be short-term ramp closures in the coming week as crews install light poles at interchanges.
