MnDOT, city of Moorhead to host Jan. 14 public open house for future Hwy 10/75 project
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the city of Moorhead invite the public to an open house on Tuesday, Jan. 14, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., to learn more about the future Highway 10/75 project and updated construction timeline. The open house will be held at the Hjemkomst Center, located at 202 First Ave. N., in Moorhead.
There will be no formal presentation, the public can stop in whenever it’s convenient between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Project staff will be available to provide information about the overall project, projected timeline, community and traffic impacts during construction, and to answer questions.
The Highway 10/75 project is scheduled for construction in 2027. The project includes resurfacing, sidewalk upgrades for improved pedestrian access, and traffic signal replacement on Highway 75/Eighth Street between Main Avenue and 24th Avenue. A preventative maintenance surface treatment, known as a slurry seal, will be performed on Highway 10 from the Red River to 10th Street.
Once the slurry seal is completed, Highway 10 from the Red River to Highway 75/Eighth Street will be restriped to three lanes. This will serve as a pilot project to allow MnDOT, MetroCOG and the City of Moorhead to evaluate the impacts and changes to traffic flow and mobility with the new underpass at 11th Street.
