Public meetings set for Feb. 12 for Hwy 371 and Hwy 210 intersection improvement project in Baxter
BAXTER, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the traveling public, area residents and businesses to attend a public meeting to learn about five alternative designs for the Highway 371 and Highway 210 intersection improvement project in Baxter.
Two open house-style meetings will be held:
          Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025
          1-2:30 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.
MnDOT office: 7694 Industrial Park Rd S, Baxter
No formal presentation is scheduled; attendees can stop by at their leisure. The same information and materials will be available at both events.
MnDOT has posted a video online explaining the project’s background and the five alternative designs that are under consideration. There is also an online survey for the public to give feedback on the alternatives. The survey runs through Feb. 21. Both the video and survey can be found on the project webpage: talk.dot.state.mn.us/hwy-371-and-210-baxter-intersection-improvement-project
The project will identify, prioritize and select a preliminary design. This will be done by considering existing and future demographics, land use, development, transportation needs and safety data. Planning and design are expected to continue through 2027, with construction anticipated to begin in 2028. When complete, the project will improve access, safety and traffic flow through the Brainerd Lakes area.
MnDOT encourages participation by all as we believe everyone should have an equal opportunity to enjoy the programs, services and activities we provide. If you need an ASL, a foreign language interpreter, or other reasonable accommodation, or need documents in an alternative format (such as braille or large print), please email your request to Janet Miller at ADArequest.dot@state.mn.us or call 651-366-4720.
