Highway 2 culvert replacement near Proctor begins June 2
DULUTH,  Minn. –  The  Minnesota Department of Transportation will be starting a culvert replacement  project on Highway 2 between Highway 194 and Proctor on June 2. The first  culvert replacement will take place at West Rocky Run Creek. Highway 2 will be  fully closed at the creek which is located between Sandberg Road and Hermantown  Road. 
        A posted  detour will direct motorists to take Highway 194 to Midway Road. Local traffic  will be able to continue on Highway 2 up until the work zone. Work at this  location will last through the end of June. Upon completion at this location,  work will move east to two different culvert locations.

        Work  Zone Safety Tips: 
- Obey posted speed limits. The fine for speeding in a work zone is $300.
- Drive undistracted. Avoid using cell phones, mobile devices, adjusting the radio – even eating –while in work zones.
- Move over. Give workers room to safely complete their work.

- Be patient. Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Do the zipper merge.
- Avoid making unnecessary lane changes.
