Hwy 37 delays for bridge beam setting in Eveleth July 15 - 18

DULUTH, Minn. –The Minnesota Department of Transportation will be placing bridge beams at Hwy 53 and Hwy 37 in Eveleth July 15 – 18. Motorists traveling on Hwy 37 can expect flagging operations while beams are moved from trucks and put in place. Delays of up to 10 minutes will be needed for these operations. Work will occur during daytime hours.  Hwy 53 through traffic will be maintained.

Work Zone Safety Tips:

  • Obey posted speed limits. The fine for speeding in a work zone is $300.
  • Drive undistracted. Avoid using cell phones, mobile devices, adjusting the radio – even eating –while in work zones.
  • Move over. Give workers room to safely complete their work.

  • Be patient. Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Do the zipper merge.
  • Avoid making unnecessary lane changes.
  • Never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
