Policy statement
Excerpts from the current policy:
“The Minnesota Department of Transportation will provide relocation benefits to employees who are required to relocate as a condition of employment. Relocation benefits will be consistent with appropriate collective bargaining agreements and the Managerial and Commissioner’s Plans approved under M.S. 43A and M.S. 179A.”
“Employees covered by the Managerial or Commissioner’s Plans will have the opportunity to participate in the Assured Sale Program if they are approved by the Commissioner of the Department of Employee Relations and MnDOT Labor Relations Manager for inclusion in the program.”
Reason for retiring the policy
The policy no longer reflects contemporary business practices for employee relocation benefits and has been replaced by the MnDOT Business Manual (PDF) which provides criteria for relocation allowances, procedures to follow, forms and tax filing requirements.
