Policy statement

The purpose of this directive is to establish the policy and procedures used by the Minnesota Department of Transportation in the selection of the type of pavement for projects designed for unrestricted traffic within legal load limits.

Reason for retiring the policy

The subject matter pertaining to pavement selection was addressed in Technical Memorandum No. 09-12-MAT-03 "Pavement Selection Process" (expired 9-16-2011). Currently staff is using an updated draft document for pavement selection, which will be published in the near term. Policy 6.2-013A is obsolete and should be removed from the records.
