Limousine Rules
Proposed revisions
The Minnesota Department of Transportation is considering amendments to rules govering limousine service. Limousine service is defined in Minnesota Statutes, section 221.84, subdivision 1, as a service that is not provided on a regular route; is provided in a luxury passenger automobile that has a seating capacity of not more than 15 persons, including the driver; provides only prearranged pickup; and charges more than a taxicab fare for a comparable trip.
The scope of this rulemaking will include the consideration of any and all issues relating to the program, including amendments to reflect statutory changes, and the need for new rule parts, repeals or amendments to Minnesota Rules, Chapter 8880.
Request for comments
Interested persons or groups may submit comments or information on these possible rules in writing until further notice is published in the State Register that the Department intends to adopt or to withdraw the rules.
