Prep work for 2025 construction is currently underway and is expected to last through November 2024. Motorists can expect lane and shoulder closures.

- Improvements to sidewalks, trails, and intersection lighting

Public meetings
A construction update meeting will be held in the spring.
MnDOT and St. Louis County hosted a public meeting on Sept. 23 to give an update on the 2025 construction planned on Hwy 53 and Progress Parkway in Eveleth. For those who were unable to attend, check out the slides of the presentation or view a narrated recording below.
