Urban Reconstruct
This Urban Reconstruct project on Highway 2 in Bena is led by Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe and is scheduled for construction in the summer of 2023.
An additional multi-use trail will also be constructed to the west of Bena. Information on that separate project is included below.
Summary of work
- Reconstruct Hwy 2
- Sidewalks
- Pedestrian crossing
- Regrade the slope between the intersection with CR 8/First Ave W and the railroad tracks
- Culvert replacement on the east and west sides of Bena
- Curb and gutter
- Storm sewer

Construction on this project will be done under traffic by incorporating a bypass lane or temporary traffic signals
