Highway 72 in Baudette is scheduled for construction in 2024
Hwy 72 in Baudette is scheduled for construction in the summer of 2024. It was originally scheduled for 2023, but has been pushed to 2024.
The project will replace the pavement and utilities south of the International Bridge, with additional work on side streets by the City of Baudette.
Traffic impacts
- There will be detours and staging during construction
- Northbound traffic in town will use 1st Ave NW
- Southbound traffic in town will use 3rd Ave SW
- A temporary road will be used north of 3rd St NE to access the International Bridge
- One way traffic only to access the Duty Free store
International Bridge
A new International Bridge connecting the United States and Canada in Baudette/Rainy River was completed in 2020. Because of Covid restrictions we could not hold a formal opening celebration and instead hosted a virtual event.
