Summary of work
Improvements were made on Hwy 14 from east of Hwy 56 in Dodge Center to west of Co. Rd. 5 / 2nd Ave. in Byron. Construction started April 14 and was finished in August. The project included the following improvements:
- Constructed a J-turn at Hwy 14 and Co. Rd. 9
- Installed a high-tension cable median barrier between Dodge Center and Kasson
- Resurfaced pavement between Kasson and Byron
- Improved and repaired drainage
- Rehabilitated the eastbound and westbound Hwy 14 bridges over Hwy 57. The work included new end posts, approach panels and expansion joints
- Upgraded the Road Weather Information System (RWIS) site near Byron with new pavement sensors and processing unit
Background
During the public engagement and design phase of the Hwy 14 project, information was shared on the public engagement website. It also provided opportunities for the community to share their input about the project.
