Summary of work

The state is studying the Hwy 48 corridor from the west I-35 ramps to Government Road. The corridor includes more than 25 access points, ranging from an interchange to partial accesses. It is a highly used recreational route that experiences significant weekend congestion during the summer and fall recreational season. Grand Casino is also located along the corridor.

The goals of this study are to identify and document the existing safety and capacity characteristics of the study corridor and recommend corridor, intersection and access improvements that will address current safety and capacity deficiencies.

Public meeting

Join us on Tuesday, April 30, at 4:30 p.m. in the Hinckley City Hall Community Room, 106 1st St. SE, Hinckley, for an update meeting on the Hwy 48 corridor study. Come view proposed alternatives for the corridor and give us your feedback. For those unable to attend, materials will be posted online after the meeting.
